Pen Lag on Huion H640P

Been using a Huion H640P for almost a month now but the pen has just started to become very laggy. Every stroke I make is slow, imprecise, and hard to control, and the stroke continues after I lift the pen. I'm using macOS Catalina 10.15.5 and the most recent driver Driver_14.4.5.200611. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, restarting my computer, and updating my computer software, but nothing is working. Is there anything I can do?

  • Hi Esther Huang, does the lag happen to all of your computer programs or just in a specific drawing program? Kindly try using an older tablet driver version and check if you still experience the lag. Please make sure to properly uninstall and install the driver by referring to these articles:

  • The lag happens on all programs, so I don't believe it's an issue with my drawing software. I cannot open older versions of the driver because Apple sends a popup saying it can't scan for viruses, and that I should update it. Is there anything else I can do? 

  • Hi Esther Huang, I'm sorry to know that. We recommend that you update your firmware which you can download from this link: Huion Firmware. Doing so usually resolves the lagging issue. However, you need to update the firmware using a Windows computer. Kindly check out this article: How to upgrade the firmware of your Huion product. If updating the firmware still do not resolve your issue, please send an email to service@huion.com with the following information:

    • Serial number (found at the back of your tablet)
    • Purchase order number
    • Link where you purchased your tablet
    • A video of the lagging issue which you can send through WeTransfer or you can upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive. If you upload it, please make sure to remove the restriction so anyone who has the link can view it.

    I tried emailing them(I don't have a Windows computer) and they were trying to solve my issue, but after a couple of messages, my emails kept getting returned by a bot that said the service's mailbox was too full. I tried again a couple of hours later to no avail. They advised me to download a QC application to troubleshoot the issue, but I'm unable to open the application. I've already tried uninstalling the driver as well as using an older version of the driver, but nothing seems to be working. Is there anything else I can do because my emails aren't going through?

    With regard to the TabletQC software we've sent over, is there an error when you tried to open it? We will resend the software to you through your ticket and kindly try opening it again so we can test your tablet.

  • I have the same issue, but on my GT-190 under macOS Catalina.

    Using the mouse, the paint flows very well, but with the pen the paint gets a lot of lag and some shortcuts (shift mainly) just don't work.


    My impression is that the driver was poorly written for the latest versions of macOS and 64-bit applications.


    And whenever I open the TabletDriverPanel, a new instance of HuionTabletInfo is added to the list of processes.


    I'm using version 12.0.5 of the driver.

    The pen lags alot making it harder to control.

  • Hi Mohamad Alazzam and Tarif Tarifuzzaman, what steps have you done so far? Kindly provide the following as well:

    • Your computer operating system
    • Version of the tablet driver you've installed
    • Your drawing program and the version
    • Does the lag happen in all your computer programs or just on a specific drawing program?
    • Does the lag happen even without a driver (uninstall the driver, unplug your tablet, restart your computer then plug the tablet back in)

  • Hello. My huion H640p also recently developed a serious lagging problem. I use a windows 10 Home My tablet driver version is v15.5.3.444 (recently updated because of the issue but apparently it's not the problem) The lag happens generally even when I use it to perform basic system operations and not on a drawing program I've tried uninstalling my driver, but then it lagged without the driver installed as well and still continue lagging when I had the driver updated Please kindly help me out as this is my life right now
  • Hi Olugbade Akintunde, I'm sorry to know that. Please try to perform QC test. Kindly follow the steps below:

    1. Please exit from the Huion tablet driver and don't open the said driver. You can do this by right-clicking the Huion Tablet driver icon from the lower-right corner of your screen and clicking "Exit";

    2. Install the Huion TabletQC tool which you can download from this link: Huion TabletQC Test
    3. Check if the parameters on the left-hand side appear on the QC software. If you don't see the parameters, please unplug and plug your tablet back in until the parameters appear, or reopen the QC software again if needed.
    4. Draw on the QC software. You can choose from the Menu at the top using your mouse to have pen pressure or use different colors as you draw.
    5. Try pressing the pen's buttons and the express keys on the tablet (if your tablet has press keys). Test the touch bar or slider if your tablet has it, and/or use your pen to test your tablet's soft keys (if your tablet has it) and check if the parameters change as well.
    6. Using a phone or other external camera devices, take a video as you perform all of the above-mentioned steps and send it to us (we recommend you send the video through WeTransfer or upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and please grant permission to anyone who has a link to view it). Please don't use screen recording; it is important that we can clearly see both the tablet and the display screen as you perform the test. Please refer to the screenshot below on what to observe and what to do in the TabletQC software.

  • Hi, i've encountered the exact same problem as Olugbade Akintunde with my Huion H640P. It has only started to lag last month, i haven't updated my driver last month so i thought that that was the problem, but after i've updated, the same issue still continue to happen. I have already uninstall and reinstalled the driver(newest version) multiple times, and even tried a different driver version. I've tested it in Photoshop and Krita(x64) and the same lagging happened. Sometimes even just using it in browser also caused it to lag. i've followed the following steps and shared the video in my google drive. I've already exited the Huion Tablet driver before starting the video. My pen button doesn't seem to respond and non of the express keys responded. I hope that you can help me out with this problem. Thank you very much.
