Our digital pens use Electromagnetic Resonance (EMR) Technology, and various factors can cause your digital pen to stop working. To help solve your issue, or at least help you troubleshoot what caused it, here are some steps you can try:
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Battery-free Pens
- Conflicts may occur when updates are done on your computer, causing your pen to stop working. Thus, try uninstalling and reinstalling your driver or installing the latest version if you're not using the latest one. Please refer to the appropriate steps in this link: Huion Support: Setup and Use. Check if your tablet driver detects your tablet after reinstallation. You may need to reboot your computer.
- Try using your tablet without a driver. Uninstall your tablet driver, disconnect and reconnect your tablet, then test. (NOTE: Please skip this step if your computer runs on MacOS Catalina or later.)
If the pen works without a driver, the driver may not have been installed correctly or was corrupted during or after installation. Ensure to install the driver correctly by following the steps from the following articles: - If your graphic tablet has a wireless receiver or Bluetooth connection feature, please use the cable and ensure to disconnect your wireless connection. Please refrain from using both connections simultaneously, as this can cause conflict, resulting in tablet malfunction. If the pen works when connecting through cable, either your wireless receiver is broken, or your Bluetooth connectivity needs to be fixed.
- Check if the tablet driver detects your tablet. If the driver does not detect your tablet, please connect your tablet to another port on your computer. A defective port can cause your tablet to stop responding to your pen since your USB-A connection handles the data connection.
- If you use a hub or adapter, please try connecting your tablet directly to your computer's USB-A port, if possible. Otherwise, try using another adapter. Sometimes, connectivity issues occur if multiple devices are connected to your hub or adapter. So removing some devices can help.
- If you have a similar cable used on your tablet, try using another cable and test if your pen works.
- Graphic tablets use USB-C/Micro USB/Mini USB to USB-A cables. Ensure that your cables can transmit data, not just supply power.
- If you use a USB-C to USB-C cable with your tablet display, ensure that your other cable is also a full-featured USB-C to USB-C one. Otherwise, a "No signal" error will occur.
- Try your tablet on another computer. Using another computer will help us check the issue is replicated on another unit.
- If all steps above don't fix your pen issue, please email the following to our support team at [email protected]:
- Serial number (usually below your barcode, and it starts with S/N)
- The order number when you purchased your tablet
- Link where you purchased your tablet (if it wasn't purchased from our official online store)
- Your computer operating system
- The tablet driver versions you tried
- If you are using a tablet display, provide a short video capturing your cable connection from your tablet to your computer. Also, turn on your tablet, and open the tablet driver.
Rechargeable Battery Pens
- Since your pen contains a rechargeable battery, the battery may deteriorate over time, whether used or not. Thus, try using the pen while being connected to the charging cable. If it works when connected, try charging it for 2-3 hours. If it still stops working when not connected, even after charging it, the battery can no longer hold a charge. If you're out of warranty, you can purchase a new pen from this link: Huion Accessories. But if you're within the warranty, see Step #9 below to contact us.
