At startup I have to drag back all softwares on Huion Kamwas 16 gen 3

Hello, I have just bought a kamvas 16 gen 3 to replace the kamvas 16 2021 and I've found an annoying issue with it.

Pretty much, I set my tablet as extended monitor and I have some app that I only use on it (clip studio, photoshop, etc), so I opened these apps and dragged them on the screen as usual.

The problem is that every time I put my pc in sleep mode with open apps, the screen acts as if I unplugged it entirely and everything resets, so every time I have to drag back all softwares that I have opened again, cause they would show up on my main screen only. I have never had this issue with my old kamvas 16, I could keep all my apps open and turn on and off the pc and everything would stay there unless I unplugged the usb.So now every time I have to set back my work space and it's kind of annoying.

How can I fix this? I have already reinstalled everything and uninstalled the old kamvas screen. If I set the screen as "main" it doesnt change, at startup everything moves back to my pc screen until i turn on the tablet and I have to drag everything back.

Thanks

  • Hi, Sabry. Are you using a Windows computer? If you are, please try the following:

    1. Enable Window-Location Memory
      1. Go to "Settings" →  "System" →  "Display
      2. Expand "Multiple displays"
      3. Check "Remember window locations based on monitor connection"
    2. Disable Fast Startup
      1. Go to "Control Panel" → "Power Options"
      2. Click "Choose what the power buttons do"
      3. Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
      4. Uncheck "Turn on fast startup" then click "Save changes"

  • Hello and thanks.

Unfortunately I've already tried this multiple times and did not help. I have two PCs and I have the same issue on both.

I've also noticed in the Windows register, Huion HID has a Kernel 411 error and I believe it might be the cause? But I cant find a way to fix it. All solutions I've found online have not been helpful.

    Any idea?

    Thank you

  • Hi, Sabry. The Kernel 411 error may also cause the issue. Please try these steps:

    1. Fully uninstall the Huion driver
      • Go to Control Panel → Programs → uninstall HuionTablet (driver)
      • Also uninstall all other tablet drivers (if there are any)
      • Go to Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices → remove all Huion HID entries
    2. Reboot your computer
    3. Reinstall the driver
    4. Avoid using USB-C hubs/docks. If possible, connect the HDMI and black USB-A directly to your computer.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, try connecting your tablet to a different computer to see whether the problem persists. If it works correctly on another computer, the issue may be related to your own computer's Windows operating system. In that case, I recommend reinstalling Windows.

  • Hello, unfortunately that doesn't fix the issue either.

I've tried on two different computers, a desktop and a laptop both with Windows 10, and the same thing happens on both. If I plug in my old tablet, Kamvas 16 2021, it works fine instead.

  • Hi, Sabry. I'm sorry about that. Could you kindly provide a video of this issue? Please provide one with the Kamvas 16 (Gen 3) and another one with the Kamvas 16 (2021) for comparison.

  • Hi, here's the video:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/194wKEWMIZQWhNOtAyiBMpooZPiRUL2DO/view?usp=sharing

I couldn't attach it here directly, I hope a Drive link is fine.

I've made a video with both tablets plugged in at the same time. I've opened two different apps on each one, turned off the screens, and put the pc in sleep mode. Once I turned everything on again, you can see that the app with white background that I had open on Gen3 moved to the PC display, while the one on 2021 is still in its place. It happens with any app and every time I use hibernate/sleep mode with the apps open.

  • Hi, Sabry. Thank you for the video. Could you please update your graphics card driver? Go to Device Manager -> Display adapters -> right-click your graphics card -> click "Update driver".

You can also try setting your Kamvas 16 (Gen 3) as your main display. Go to Settings -> System -> Display -> expand Multiple displays -> select your Kamvas 16 (Gen 3) -> tick "Make this my main display".

If you still experience the issue, please answer the following:

    1. Do you have a screenshot of the Kernel 411 error?
    2. Do you see the same error on both computers (desktop and laptop)?
    3. Do both computers run on Windows 10? Which Windows version?
    4. If you switch the port where the HDMI cable is connected on both computers, do you experience the same issue?
    5. Are you using the 3-in-1 cable on both tablets?
    6. Are you using any adapters or hubs?

I would appreciate it if you could provide a video of the cable connections from the tablets to your computer and power source. Please make sure the ports where the cables connect are clearly visible.

  •  Hello, the graphic card is updated to the latest driver and if I set the tablet as main screen it gives the same issue.

1 & 2- I see the Kernel error on both computers, laptop and desktop, and it's the following: (sorry it's in Italian)

    Origine: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP

    Data: 28/08/2026 17:18:54

    ID evento: 411

    Categoria attività:Nessuna

    Livello: Errore

    Parole chiave:

    Utente: SYSTEM

    Descrizione:

Problema di avvio del dispositivo ROOT\HIDCLASS\0000.

    Nome driver: oem23.inf

    GUID classe: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}

    Servizio: vmulti

    Filtri inferiori:

    Filtri superiori: mshidkmdf

    Problema: 0x15

    Stato problema: 0x0

3- I run Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 on desktop and Windows 10 home on laptop.

4, 5 & 6- I only have one HDMI on my graphic card and the tablet is connected directly with the 3in1 cable, while my desktop display is connected with an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter. Connecting the tablet with the DP adapter gives the same problem, but I always keep the Kamvas connected with direct HDMI without any adapter. The usb-c connection on desktop doesn't work, not even with the 2021 model, and I dont have an usb-c on laptop. I also only have one HDMI on the laptop. So I always use the 3in1 cable.

I attach the cables configurations and the error screen from my desktop pc.

Thank you for the time you're taking to help me!

  • Hi, Sabry. Thank you for providing additional information. Could you kindly provide the firmware versions of the Kamvas 16 (2021) and the Kamvas 16 (Gen 3)? I have requested our technical team to look into this further.

Additionally, I want to clarify: it doesn't matter whether the driver is installed; the behavior remains the same, right? Also, do you only encounter the Kernel 411 error when you plug in the Kamvas 16 (Gen 3)? This error doesn't appear with the Kamvas 16 (2021), right?

Lastly, are the cables circled in red below the ones for the Kamvas 16 (Gen 3)? Which cable is the one highlighted in blue?
