What’s the difference between Inspiroy Dial 2 V2 and the original Inspiroy Dial 2?

Inspiroy Dial 2 V2 represents a significant upgrade over the previous model, Inspiroy Dial 2, primarily in terms of the pen and pressure sensitivity.

Key Upgrades

  • Pressure sensitivity improved to 16,384 levels

  • Includes the Huion PenTech 4.0

  • Better pressure response and line stability for a more comfortable drawing experience

The main differences between the two models are the pen and the pen holder. For the pen differences, please refer to the table below.

What has improved with the PW600 featuring PenTech 4.0?

Inspiroy Dial 2 V2 comes with the PW600 pen, which features Huion PenTech 4.0 technology, delivering even greater pen precision.

With automatic tilt adjustment, cursor misalignment is reduced, and lines remain accurate regardless of the drawing angle. Compared to previous pens, line entry/exit and pressure reproducibility are improved, making delicate expressions easier to achieve.

Key Features of the PW600 with PenTech 4.0

Huion PenTech 4.0 is the 4th generation of Huion's pen technology.

It transmits digital data through a proprietary HV200 chip, improving pressure sensitivity to 16,384 levels.

The pressure curve is more refined, supporting everything from 2g activation force (IAF) to maximum pressure, making it easier to capture fine lines.

PenTech 4.0 also includes the following advanced features:

1. Improved Pressure Sensitivity

With 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity, the pen delivers smooth and precise strokes.

The pressure curve is more refined, accurately reflecting even the most subtle changes in force.

2. Light Activation Force (2g IAF)

The pen responds to as little as 2g of force, providing a natural, fatigue-free writing experience.

It supports everything from 2g activation force (IAF) to maximum pressure, making it easier to capture fine lines.

Note: Activation Force (IAF) refers to the amount of force required to begin drawing.

3. Automatic Tilt Adjustment

Lines can be drawn accurately from any angle, with support for tilt up to 60 degrees.

Cursor misalignment caused by tilt is reduced, maintaining accuracy regardless of the drawing angle.

4. Smaller Pen Nib Size

The slim, easy-to-grip design provides a comfortable drawing experience.

The issue of dust accumulating on the pen body has also been significantly improved, allowing for smooth, uninterrupted line work.

5. Improved Nib Travel

When pressure is applied from 0 to maximum, the nib travels only about 0.35mm into the pen body.

This successfully reduces nib contact, internal vibration, and wobble, providing a hard, pencil-like feel.

Summary

PenTech 4.0 delivers a more precise and comfortable digital drawing experience through the following improvements:

ItemDetails
Pressure Sensitivity16,384 levels
Activation Force (IAF)2g
Tilt SupportUp to 60°, automatic tilt adjustment
NibSlim design, reduced dust accumulation

Features Inherited from PenTech 3.0

PenTech 4.0 also inherits the key advanced features of PenTech 3.0.

  • Optional Nibs: Choose between standard plastic nibs and felt nibs

  • Tilt Detection: Line thickness and opacity change based on pen angle, allowing for pencil-like shading when tilted
