420 Tablet On a Mac

Hi!

I have a Macbook Pro, and I downloaded the correct driver, but when I install it, the program never asks me to open my system preferences to allow accessibility. Additionally, when downloaded, the software doesn't recognized the tablet as plugged in.
Help?
P.S. I did an SMC reset on my mac, and still not recognizing the tablet being plugged in.

  • Hi Elle Cuddy, I'm sorry to know that. Please try to follow the installation instructions found in the attached PDF file and please install Driver_12.0.5 version which you can download from this link: Huion 420 Graphic Tablet Drivers.


    By the way, may I know which MacOS version is your Macbook Pro running on?

  • Of course I was following the installation instruction. 
    My Mac is running Yosemite 10.10.5

  • Hi Elle Cuddy, thank you for your clarification. May I know what software are you using? 


    The Driver_12.0.5 is the newest version which can only work on MacOS 10.12 or later. Since you are using MacOS 10.10.5, you can try using the older driver versions such as Driver_11.1.8, Driver_11.1.4, or  Driver_11.1.3. However, there might be some issues when you use an older driver version with a new software version. If it is possible for you to update your MacOS to at least 10.12 (MacOS Sierra), you can use the latest driver version for your tablet.

  • What do you mean? the software I downloaded from your website?


    That would be:  HuionDriver_v12.0.5

  • Also, I would update my op. system, but I have hardly any RAM right now! :)

  • Tried every single driver package for both the "h420" and the "420," none of them worked. I will be returning this.

  • Hi Elle Cuddy, it is unfortunate that you still have issues even with the older drivers. I'm sorry about that. 


    The software I was referring to is the drawing or writing software you are using such as Photoshop, Autodesk Sketchbook, etc. 


    If you have not returned the tablet yet and since updating your operating system is not an option, kindly try the following:

    1. Check if the tablet's light will turn on when you tap the pen on the tablet's surface. Please make sure that you have inserted a new AAA battery in your pen and is switched on.
    2. Kindly try using a different cable if you have a similar cable available.
    3. If you have access to another computer, kindly test your tablet if it works on another computer.
