Pen not working, but the display is

I have a Huion 16 pro tablet and pen that has worked fine for 4 months. As of 2 days ago, the pen stopped working, even if the device was connected. I reinstalled the driver a few times, replugged and unplugged, restarted my computer, and using new adapters (I am using a macbook pro, which only has two charging ports). Sometimes when the tablet driver labels the tablet as disconnected, the pen works. I dont know what else to try.

  • Hi rilee harris, may I know what driver version you are using? Just a couple of days ago, we received reports about issues on our driver version 14.4.4. If you are using the said version, kindly follow the steps below:

    1. Uninstall the said driver by following the steps found in this article (proceed to Step #2 for V14 drivers): How to Uninstall the HUION MAC Driver V13 or V14 Properly
    2. If you can't launch your driver and is unable to follow the steps found in the above mentioned article, you can manually uninstall the driver using these steps:
      • Unplug your tablet from your computer 
      • Move the Huion Tablet folder to your trash 
      • Go to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and remove the TabletDriverAgent app
      • Restart your computer
    3. After you have finally uninstalled the driver, download the latest driver version for your tablet which you can download from this link: Huion Kamvas Pro 16 Tablet Display Drivers
    4. Turn off your antivirus and close all running drawing programs and install the latest driver by following the steps found in this article: How to Install Huion Driver on MacOS
    5. Once installed, connect your tablet to your computer and check if the driver is showing as "Device connected". If it does, tap your pen on the tablet and go to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility. Make sure that the Huion Tablet and TabletDriverAgent apps are checked.

    After your properly install the latest driver, test your tablet if your pen works this time and is working fine.
