Right click navigation in Zbrush causes strange rotation jumps

I bought myself a Kamvas 24 plus and noticed something very strange when I'm trying to sculpt in Zbrush.

In Zbrush you can activate right click navigation, it allows you to rotate the scene by just holding down right click. So I've mapped one of the side buttons to right click to easily rotate.

When I lift the pen from the canvas -> hold the pen away from the screen -> press and hold right click -> then approach the display, it will update the position of the cursor and it will also act as if I held right click from the previous position where the cursor was before. This causes the whole scene to rotate based of the amount of distance from the previous location of the cursor to the current location. Basically if I hold right click when the pen isn't close enough to the display when I go back to it it's going to aggressively rotate the scene.

The tablet display I use at work is a different brand and does not have this issue. At work I tried the same action on it, to see if it would violently rotate, but it does not do that. It seems to update the cursor position first and does not act as if I held right click from the previous location. So at work I'm able to work comfortably and at home I'm constantly having the scene jump around.

I've attached a gif showing the rotation jumps in action.

  • Hi Edvard, if it's not too much to ask, is it possible to ask for a video as you use your tablet at work, including the settings and shortcuts you are using in ZBrush and on the tablet driver? It will be of great help.

  • Sure, I have the same settings in Zbrush as at home, rightclick navigation in zbrush activated with a pen button set as right click.
