HS 611. Modifiers keys are sticky on mac os Catalina.

My modifier keys are sticky when I use keys such as OPTION, COMMAND, CTRL, or SHIFT, they get stuck even after I let the key off. Only pressing the modifier key again helps. Mouse or trackpad doesn't cause this issue. MacOs Catalina 10.15.

  • Hi Mirrorart, may I know which driver version have you installed? Kindly try using the tablet without the driver and check if your modifier keys are still sticky. If it won't, then the issue is caused by the driver. If it still have the issue, it is possible that it is caused by either your tablet or other factors. If you have an access to another computer, please try to check if it still has the same issue when connected to another computer, with our without the driver.

  • Dear Mirrorart,

    Dear Orliza Amodia,

I encounter the same exact issue with my Kamvas 13 Pro on a Macbook running MacOs Catalina 10.15.2.

I have updated the driver this morning to version 14.4.4.191025.

Would you have any advice to resolve this problem?

    Thank you in advance,

    Julie

  • It seems that there are no issues with the driver uninstalled. All modifier keys work great. I've tried to check it on another computer with the same operating system, but there were no issues with modifier keys with the driver installed.

    Driver version 200417

    Any solution? Thank you!

  • Hi Mirrorart, thank you for trying it with another computer. Since it works fine with the other computer, kindly try using the Driver_14.4.4.200106 version on your computer and check if the issue is resolved. (Link: Huion HS611 Graphic Tablet Drivers)

Hi Julie, kindly try using Driver_14.4.4.200417 version instead. (Link: Huion Kamvas Pro 13 Tablet Display Drivers)

  • Thank you for your response. As advised, I have updated the driver to version X. Unfortunately, following this update, the tablet is no longer responding. It is well indicated as connected in the driver interface and the accessibility preferences have been checked in "Security and Privacy" but the pencil no longer appears at all on the screen.

  • Hi Julie, we will have to look into this further. Since you've created a ticket about this issue, I will further assist you through the ticket.

  • Hello Feb,

    Yes, I found a solution! I got a Wacom.

Do not expect Huion 'support' to help you out, they made me lose a huge load of time. I talked back and forth with them many many times to only find out they don't know what they are doing. I even had my tablet replaced TWICE, having the exact same behavior.

Just to begin with, the Huion drivers lack many features that Wacoms have had for many years... Why don't they just copy such features is beyond me. Now, after many drivers and even beta drivers from Huion the problem only got worse in some cases. The hardware is fine and on par with Wacom, but the software is complete crap and I don't expect it to change anytime soon. If you happen to contact any youtuber that reviews them they will confirm they have this same 'sticky' problem we had.

Wacom is not perfect either, but at least their software works fine on the basic stuff to be able to work.

As a developer myself I see too many issues with Huion software and ZERO thought put into it.

My advice, stay away from them, specially Huion Support. Don't lose your time.

  • Hi Feb, may you please provide the following information to service@huion.com so we can check on it further:

    3. Tablet driver version you installed
    4. Firmware version
