My Pen only works when plug in

My pen for the GT-191 Only works when plug in to the usb cable anyway to fix this ?

  • Hi Richard, thank you for reporting your problem. If your pen only works if plugged to the charging cable, it means that the rechargeable Li-Ion battery inside the pen can no longer hold any charge. Thus, please send the following information to for further assistance:

    1. Product Serial Number (found at the back of your tablet)
    2. Purchase Order Number
    3. Link where you purchased your tablet
    4. A video showing your problem clearly (kindly send it through WeTransfer or upload it to Google Drive and please make sure you grant permission to anyone who has the link).

  •  I have the same issue recently with a brand new Huion NEW1060PLUS.  I contacted with customer service and they sent me a new PEN80. At the first the new pen didn't work but I reinstalled the drivers and it worked wireless...but only once. Next time I used it, it became malfunctioning again even though it was a new pen (even I reinstall the drivers again but nothing happens). But I'm tired, I just want to use the tablet so I'm using the pen with the pen attached. Sincerelly I don't know what can be malfunctioning, if the pen, the drivers or even the tablet.

  • Hi  Josh Fabricius Sparrow, I'm sorry to know that the replacement pen still won't work wirelessly. May you please provide the following to so we can look into this further?

    • Product order number;
    • Product serial number (S/N), which can be found at the back of your unit;
    • Link where you purchased the item;
    • A video that clearly shows your issue (kindly send it through WeTransfer or upload to Google drive and grant permission to allow anyone with a link to view it).

    If it's not too much to ask, kindly mention that the issue is for the replacement pen and include adding the date when you received it. This way we can further check why the replacement pen you got still won't work without being connected to the charging cable. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

    Let me try both pens in a 1060Plus of a friend of mine to ensure that the new pen works fine and the problem could be because of the drivers. If, back then , it still malfunctioning I would provide you the info that you asked for.

    PS: Just in case. The first pen issue was treated by Bought in December-2-2019 at Fnac Marketplace.  First contact with customer service was in December 10, and I received the new pen in December 26.

  •  Hi Orliza Amodia. I just wrote to you just a minutes ago with the information you asked for.

    I  tested both pens in my friend's 1060plus and none of them worked wireless, but she tested her pen in my tablet and it worked fine, so no problem with my tablet or the drivers, it was just both pens malfunctioning. :S

  • I have 2 pens both 330's and neither one of them work unless the cable is plugged in. The 2nd pen I have is brand new out of the box, came a special when 2nd pen when I bought the monitor. Both pens have been plugged in and charging for days. The light is on when they're charging (white). Unplug them and try on the screen and the light goes off and nothing. Plug the usb cable back in and it works. 

    This is really pissing me off.

    It's really annoying. Lot of people seems to be in the same case & 0 answer is given.

  • Hi Tom Radote - confined since 2015, I understand where you are coming from. Rest assured we answer all forum posts that need our assistance. Some resolutions will have to be provided privately since it will depend on the situation each customer is experiencing. As we try to find the resolution, we may need to ask for personal information which we prefer our customers to provide to us directly and not publicly.

    As I've mentioned early on in this topic, if the pen only works when plugged in but will not work if not, then the issue is, most often than not, caused by the Lithium-Ion battery inside the pen. Please try using your pen with and without the driver and try it on a different computer, if you have access to another unit. If you still get the same result, then we can say that the battery inside your pen can no longer hold a charge. 

    All Huion products come with a 1-year warranty so if you have purchased your tablet within a year ago, please send the following information to

    • Serial number (found at the back of the tablet)
    • Purchase order number
    • Link where you purchased your tablet
    • A video as you use your pen with and without being connected to the charging cable. You can use your phone in taking the video provided that we can see both your tablet, your pen and the screen. Then send the video through WeTransfer or upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and add the link to your email. Please make sure to remove the restriction in accessing the link if you upload the video.

  • I received a 1060Plus in November as a gift and it has never worked unless plugged in.  I opened up a ticket and Huion support told me to go buy another pen.  There is obviously a quality control problem but they won't acknowledge it.

However, we need to have the order number to validate the purchase. May you please ask for the order number and provide it to us so we can check?

  • Hello, just got my Huion GT-221 Pro.
    It literally arrived a few hours ago.

    Both the main pen and the "gifted" one are with the same behavior the others reported:

    working with cable and not working without the cable :(
    I let the pen charge for more than 1 hour, and still not working when disconnected :/

    Also in the box there is a Warranty Card, what should I do with it?

    The latest driver is installed and the pen just works cabled.

    Can you help me?
